Joan Collins, 81, was born in London. After training at Rada, she moved to Hollywood and made her first film in 1951. In the late 1970s she starred in The Stud and The Bitch, adaptations of novels by her sister, Jackie Collins. In 1981, she was cast as the wicked Alexis Carrington in the television series Dynasty, a role that won her a Golden Globe. She has performed in the West End and on Broadway, and her novels and memoirs have sold more than 50m copies worldwide. Her debut cosmetic range is called Timeless Beauty. She is married for the fifth time and has three children.
