Louis Smith, 24, was raised in Peterborough. He was diagnosed with ADHD, and at the age of four started gymnastics to counter his condition. A good singer, he turned down a chorister's scholarship to concentrate on gymnastics and, at 14, he won his first medal. At Beijing in 2008, he became the first Briton in 100 years to win an Olympic medal in individual gymnastics. At London 2012, he won silver in the pommel horse event and a team bronze medal. Last year he also won Strictly Come Dancing. His illustrated memoir, Louis: My Story So Far, has just been published.
