Pete Postlethwaite, 63, was born in Warrington. He went into a junior seminary before deciding to train as a PE teacher, and then, at 24, enrolled at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. His 40-year career has spanned television, stage and film. He is currently playing King Lear at the Young Vic in London.
