Speech Debelle, 26, was born Corynne Elliot, in London. She signed to the Big Dada record label in November 2007 and released her debut album, Speech Therapy, this year. The hip-hop record gained critical acclaim and, in September, she won the Mercury prize. In December, she supports Basement Jaxx's arena tour.
