Dame Vera Lynn, 92, was born in East Ham, London. She began singing in working men's clubs at seven, and made her first solo record in 1936. Known as the Forces' Sweetheart, she recorded We'll Meet Again in 1942. In September, she became the oldest living person to top the charts with her album, The Very Best Of Vera Lynn.
