When I was 19, I washed up in the basement of a Paris restaurant that stank of rotted food. I did it for six months, until I was promoted to vegetable boy.
I worked in a supermarket on the Kings Road when I was 17, standing by the beers, wines and spirits to make sure people didn’t shoplift. They were such horrible employers that I didn’t care whether people shoplifted or not.
Being a cocktail waitress and having to wear a compromising dress in an unwoke 1990s world.
Treating a flock of sheep for foot rot when I was a farm labourer.
Just being remembered at all would be great.
