You have kids and you’re forced to remember that time actually extends. The world extends, policy extends, stakes extend past your own life.
I have different hats; I’m a mother, I’m a woman, I’m a human being, I’m an artist and hopefully I’m an advocate. All of those plates are things I spin all the time.
There is nothing more important to me than my children and focusing on them. It’s the quality of time with my children, not the quantity of time that I’ve found to be important.
My daughters are something, and they just surprise and enchant and impress me more and more every single day as they grow up. And so these days, when we talk, we talk as parent to child, but also we learn from them.
