Born on Merseyside and raised in north Wales, Ralph Steadman, 79, has published books on Leonardo da Vinci and Sigmund Freud, and famously collaborated with Hunter S Thompson in the 1970s, including on Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. He is twice married, has five children and lives in Kent. he will appear at the Port Eliot Festival in Cornwall to discuss Nextinction, a book he has co-authored on championing endangered birds.
