Tom Daley, 15, began diving at the age of seven. At 12, he was too young to compete at the 2007 Australian Youth Olympic Festival but, with a special dispensation to take part, he took silver in the 10m platform synchro event. In 2008, he reached the finals of the 10m platform and 10m platform synchro at the Beijing Olympics. This year, he won the individual 10m platform title at the world championships in Rome. He lives in Plymouth with his parents and two younger brothers.
