A running accident when I was 14 or 15. I fainted but I was a bit of a jester and they thought I was taking the piss, so I was left for a bit. I woke up in hospital.

View all 209 →When I had a bicycle accident when I was 24. I was on a bridge going down; the bicycle broke and I smashed to the ground, face first. I broke my jaw and my teeth, and had to have plastic surgery. It all took half a year and then, funnily enough, I got my first big job – a TV series – with what I thought of then as this big, ugly scar.
Childbirth. And the wheel of our camper van coming clean off on the M1.

I think I’d just like to be chilling out really, so it’s like real summer family holidays where the most important things to decide are what are you going to have for breakfast, what are you going to have for lunch, what beach are you going to, and what are you going to have for dinner.
Fame. The upside is not worth the downside – you can’t turn fame on and off, and have privacy.
When I was about 14 and got my first drum kit, I wanted to be a drummer in a band like the Police.
I haven’t really had a job. I used to work at my dad’s garden centre in my late teens, but it was just messing around.
My wife, because she manages me and sometimes there isn’t time for niceties and we have to talk in a language that isn’t very marriage-like.
