Fireworks. I was given a pyrotechnics course by my son for my 40th birthday, so I do displays. I can average five to 10 grand on one display.

A pair of Back to the Future shoes. They were auctioned off for Michael J Fox’s Parkinson’s charity, so I bid and I won. I am a huge fan of the films and if there was ever a pair of shoes I should own, it was those.

In New York, I once went shopping and spent something like $7,000 on a couple of shirts, trousers and a jacket. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but it was ridiculous.

Lots of people, mainly for being so absent from their lives while I was concentrating on sport. I’d also like to say sorry to my dad’s mum, because, aged four, I told her she was the worst cook in the world.

Apart from two Olympic gold medals, I’m proud of finishing fifth in the Foxhunter Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2016, having never ridden a horse 12 months earlier.

Six weeks in my dad’s office doing admin was enough to persuade me to pursue a career in sport.
