Not being able to keep up piano lessons. I did a year and I was really good and loved it and then my parents couldn’t afford for me to continue.
At the time, it was the fact that my first marriage didn't work, but subsequently that proved to be a good thing.
That my first play, Red Velvet, took so many years to be done. It took me seven years to write and then five years to get to the stage.
That my competitive pole vault career ended at the age of 15.
I broke both my legs in a hit-and run accident when I was 26.
