I was opening in a play in my 20s, and my agent came on opening night, brought flowers, took me out to dinner and then told me she was no longer going to be representing me.
“You’re getting old.” My son Harris was factually correct, but I didn’t need to hear it.
“Next! We’re looking for somebody else.”
“You’ll never walk again.” This was when I was eight or nine and recovering from viral encephalitis.
Having a few songs that outlive you is a nice way to be remembered.
When my son got into art school.
It’s just this warm whoosh that goes through you and starts just below the navel area, the pit of your tum.
I have a hard time with people who are manipulative.
