Coretta Scott King was an American author, singer and civil rights leader. After the assassination of her husband Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968 she founded the King Center in Atlanta and campaigned for four decades on civil rights, economic justice and nonviolence.

But I was blessed with parents who taught me not to let anyone make me feel like I wasn’t good enough, and as my mother told me, “You are just as good as anyone else.
