Born in East Sussex, Jo Brand, 58, worked as a psychiatric nurse and did standup in the evenings. In the 1990s, she had her own Channel 4 series, the award-winning Jo Brand Through The Cakehole. She now presents The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice and is ambassador for the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 25 September. She is married with two daughters, and lives in London.
