When I was young and carefree, before I realised what the obstacles were that we face as black people. I was raised in a beautiful home with incredible parents. They allowed me to enjoy what it was to be a child.
When I am up in the air and about to hit the water, literally and metaphorically.
There was a moment in my early 20s when I’d finished Emmerdale and didn’t know what was next. I drove from LA to San Francisco listening to Tracy Chapman and it felt like one of those pure moments of uncomplicated joy.

My niece, Petra Janney, who got her pilot’s license to rescue animals from rural kill shelters and have them placed with different pet adoption agencies.
Cooking out with my closest friends and laughing until we are crying.
